At Grove and Meadow, we want to change the way people think about plant-based milk and yogurt. We believe that plant-based dairy products should be both delicious and wholesome, crafted with local produce and no artificial ingredients. When health is a first principle, things like modified starches, colourings, and preservatives are not an option. We have created tasty dairy alternatives that start with locally-grown fruit, nuts, and grain, and use minimal processing right here in Kenya. We believe that plant-based dairy can be BETTER.
HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?
WE USE FRESH INGREDIENTS
Most plant-based dairy products are manufactured abroad and imported from large mass-produced farms. Our base ingredients of coconuts, cashews, oats, plantains, cassava, and cane sugar are all grown on small farms in East Africa. Small farms mean less large agribusiness nonsense. No yield enhancers, no crazy fertilisers, no giant corporations. Just farmers.


WE CARE ABOUT OUR SUPPLY CHAIN AND CARBON FOOTPRINT
Most dairy alternatives are highly processed and have stabilizers and preservatives to be able to ship to the ends of the Earth and enjoy 2-year shelf lives.
Our products are made fresh, kept in the fridge like fresh food and comes from the farm to your fridge in less than 500 miles. We also pack our products in refillable glass jars so we are not adding to the single use plastic issue.
WE USE JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SWEETNESS
Sugar and sweeteners and “natural flavourings’ are the key to the big brands big flavour.
We know that delicious, natural ingredients like coconuts and plantains don’t need much help, so we skip the industrial stuff and just use a touch of raw cane sugar or honey.


YOUR HEALTH IS OUR PRIORITY
We wanted to create food products fresh and offer them locally without the addition of all the industry shortcuts.
We don’t add preservatives, modified starches, or colorings to our products. Why add nonfood ingredients when we can take advantage of the healthy alternatives with some creativity and effort.
Our dairy alternatives are alive. We use live cultures and prebiotics to fuel a healthy gut.
