Our Mission: bringing earth to table

We encourage our community to choose real, whole foods from the rich diversity of nature. Every meal is an opportunity to improve health, strengthen communities, and heal the land. We hold that food is more than fuel – it’s a chance to promote well-being for everyone and reconnect you back to the landscapes and growers that nourished it.

Our mission is to reimagine plant‐based eating through ancient wisdom and modern innovation - crafting vibrant, nutrient‐dense foods from nature’s abundant diversity. Empowering healthy living and restoring the earth’s biodiversity.

REBUILDING CONNECTIONS

We envision a future where people and nature thrive together - where every bite rebuilds a bridge to the land. At Grove & Meadow, our products are more than food; they’re promise and purpose.

Each product carries the ethos of sustainability and respect from farm to table. When you choose our foods, you’re choosing a tapestry of care: care for your body, care for the community, care for the living soil beneath our feet.

OUR CIRCULAR APPROACH

We nurture a cycle of life with every choice. Profits from our sister business (Brown’s Food Co) flow back - funding new projects that aim to restore our collective health.

Where we have processing by-products we design new recipes so everything is repurposed into nourishment. Our Living Food Campus' compost and animals also benefit from by-products. Nothing ever goes to waste. In fact, we choose not to use this term at all!

By selling our products in Kenya, we keep nourishment home: the health and wealth stay with our growers and eaters. In this way, every purchase becomes a seed for innovation and soil regeneration.

slow food, big health benefits

We let time do the work. Our foods are prepared slowly - soaked, fermented, sprouted, and stone-ground - just as people have done for generations.

This gentle process unlocks the magic of microbes and enzymes: your body absorbs more of nature’s goodness, and digestion is smoother.

The result? Flavours that come alive and a meal that truly nourishes from the inside out.

Built for Diversity, Designed for Depth

We design every recipe with intention - not just for taste, but for nutrient complexity. Each product is built around a diverse set of ingredients that work together to deliver a broad spectrum of micronutrients, fibre, and natural compounds that support gut health and overall vitality.

Just as healthy soil depends on biodiversity, so does a resilient human body. By choosing ingredients that are often overlooked - like sprouted ancient grains, heritage legumes, and wild indigenous herbs - we aim to nourish deeply, not just fill a gap.

Food That Leaves Space for the Wild

We believe the way we grow and eat food shapes the future of Africa’s wild spaces. Industrial farming drives biodiversity loss. We choose a different path - sourcing from farmers who protect soil health and work with nature. Restoring soils so the the amount of land under food production doesn't need to keep expanding at a cost to wildlife.

When we grow food with care, we reduce pressure on wild lands and help keep ecosystems intact. Keeping Africa wild starts with what’s on our plates.

farmers first

We stand with the hands that plant and harvest. Every ingredient in Grove & Meadow is traceable back to a person: a family farmer, not an anonymous corporation. We pay fair prices and encourage biodiverse farms because we know healthy soils grow strong communities.

In practice, this means teaching polyculture planting and sharing ancient seeds so our soils hum with life (and our farmers’ livelihoods grow, too).

Have you noticed how different it feels to look at a farm grown in monoculture versus polyculture?

fresh and local

Our pantry is Kenya itself. We gather ingredients from farms just a few fields away, so each product stays vibrant with nutrients (and has a tiny carbon footprint!)

When mangoes, millet, or cashews arrive within hours of being harvested, flavours pop and vitamins shine. Local farming in harmony with our climate also means using less water and letting nature’s balance thrive.

Have you ever thought about the 'true' cost of your food?

sweetness & health

We let sweetness come from nature. No mystery chemicals or hidden sugars here - only real honey, jaggery, dried fruit or unrefined cane sugar, used sparingly.

To us, every bite is an opportunity to heal, not harm. Why resort to artificial sweeteners when the mango’s own sweetness or a dusting of cinnamon will do?

Have you looked at processed foods' packaging to see the quantities of hidden sugars?
